Muraspec Digital and Ideapaint in Tower Hamlets food bank’s new offices

Recently we had the honour of attending the opening of Tower Hamlets food bank’s new offices, the result of a Gensler charity project.

Muraspec Digital and Ideapaint Clear grace the walls of the office space, which lies in the shadow of London’s Canary Wharf.

The food bank is run by the First Love Foundation, a charity who help local families in crisis get back on their feet by providing emergency assistance and help with finding employment.

With 52% of children living below the poverty line and more than 50% of residents in the Borough affected by illness, unemployment and debt, this is no mean feat.

Gensler worked with the First Love team to provide a welcoming space for visitors, seeking donations from suppliers in order to keep costs minimal.

A Bible quote forms the basis of the corridor wall, printed by Muraspec Digital, echoing the ethos of the charity. A bright digitally-printed floral wallcovering brightens up the kitchen area, while Ideapaint Clear is given two different looks: over pink paint in one of the meeting rooms and over chipboard in the main office area to create writable wall surfaces.
